The Plans Boards of Directors

The Motion Picture Industry Pension and Health Plans are trust funds established by collective bargaining agreements between many of the unions and employers in the motion picture production industry. They are primarily supported by employer contributions as provided by these agreements.

The Agreement establishing the Motion Picture Industry Health Plan was signed on October 20, 1952 and the Agreement establishing the Motion Picture Industry Pension Plan was signed on October 26, 1953, by various employers in the Motion Picture Industry and over 40 Unions and Guilds representing employees in the Motion Picture Industry.

Contributions are received from employers engaged in the production of motion pictures or engaged primarily in the business of furnishing materials or services for motion picture productions, and which have entered into a collective bargaining agreement(s) with one or more participating unions. Please see The Plans for participating unions, guilds and employers.

Although maintained as two separate legal entities, beginning in 1990, the two Plans merged to form the Motion Picture Industry Pension and Health Plans.
